Case Study 1: Sliding Window Latch
A major international window manufacturer approached Interlock to design and manufacture a sliding window latch.
Their requirement was for a latch that met the California Forced Entry Code when fitted to their largest window. The design could not compromise air infiltration or water penetration performance. Self-latching was also a requirement. They wanted the styling to be consistent with their sliding door hardware that had a distinctive modern styling.
Design concepts were completed and functional models built within three months for approval of the styling and concept. Test prototypes followed to validate the products strength and forced entry performance. The product was then tooled and production commenced within nine months of the project start.
